Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, falls in Papumpare district and is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas, which is one of the beautiful city of NorthEast. The City gets its name after the Itafort (means built with bricks) and also famous hub for tourist spot.

Itanagar is inhabited by large number of mixed tribes like Adi, Aka, Galo, Nyishi, Apatani, Tagins..etc. Agriculture is the main livelihood of the people.

Itanagar Municipal Corporation

Itanagar Municipal Corporation inaugurated on 14th August 2013.The Itanagar Municipal Corporation supervises the administration of Itanagar. The Municipal Corporation works for the development of the capital city as a whole and take care of the basic necessities of the people, particularly women and children. There are 30 wards in this municipal corporation.
