About Itanagar:
Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, falls in Papum Pare district and is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas, which is one of the most beautiful cities in Northeast India. The city gets its name after the Itafort (meaning built with bricks) and is also a famous hub for tourist spots.
Itanagar is inhabited by a large number of mixed tribes like Adi, Aka, Galo, Nyishi, Apatani, Tagin, etc. Agriculture and allied activities form an important source of livelihood for the people.

Itanagar Municipal Corporation
Itanagar Municipal Council was inaugurated on 14th August 2013 with 30 wards. Subsequently, it was upgraded to Itanagar Municipal Corporation in the year 2020 in accordance with the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 2019, and reorganized into 20 wards.
The Itanagar Municipal Corporation is responsible for the administration and delivery of civic services in Itanagar. The Municipal Corporation works for the overall development of the capital city and takes care of the basic necessities of the people, particularly women and children.
